Wells Battling Type 2 Diabetes

Padres pitcher David Wells has been diagnosed with with type two diabetes. Wells has been advised to see doctors but does not expect it to effect his pitching. "Obviously, this is a concern," Wells said. "But it's beatable. And I'm going to beat it. It's going to take some lifestyle changes. And I'm already making them. Wells was 3-5 with a 4.42 ERA and 38 K last year with the Padres. Career wise he is 230-148 with a 4.07 ERA and 2,119 K with the Blue Jays, Tigers, Reds, Orioles, Yankees, White Sox, Red Sox, and Padres.
