Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

Tough decisions loom for many on the playoff border

With the trade deadline just eight days away and the standings tight in nearly every division, many teams figure to be buyers rather than sellers, leading to few potential deals. Even teams in 3rd or 4th place aren't willing to sacrifice their season because no one is running away with their division. In the National League, six teams are within 4.5 games of each other for the NL Wildcard. In the American League, the AL Central and West leaders have a 1 and 2 game lead, respectfully. With so many teams in contention and dumping salary no longer a pressing issue, teams are struggling to find available players without tearing apart their farm system. It remains to be seen which names will be dealt, but all is quiet right now with only eight days remaining.

the cubs need to make a moved if they dont make a move soon. it will be a down fall for them they need a right fielder with power and another set up man. god bless the cubs and hope they could go all the way.

The Indians need a guy in the deeper end of the bullpen, we have the talent in our system to make a good move, but it's just up to the teams to make a deal with us.

Cubs (Might) get Wood back and with Demp also back pushing Howry to setup again their bullpen should be OK.

I do agree with you on RF though. Problem is who can they get? KGJ? Too expensive... Would cost us Patterson, Marshall and probably Marmol not to mention the $$ we'd be picking up. Dye? Sucking it up on the outh side... J Jones is better anyway. Sosa??? HA HA HA. THAT would be funny! They still have J Jones and any move for a RFer would have to be followed by a Jones move out of town which with his salary is difficult at best.

Hate to say it but the Kendall aquisition might be the final trade of the year...
