your projections always are so negative. They suck everytime. Come on are you serious?? Maine and O Pea with 4 ERAs you must have only seen them pitch on their bad days and Jose batting 285 is ridiculous also he was a 300 310 hitter in every month but Sept. Mo 272 comin off a 340 year? Get of the crystal meth my brotha

Just wait and see guys...

as for mo...he only played in like 80 games..and he is like 41

i think pitching is good...but a little pessimistic. i agree that maine and perez wont have the same years

guys complaining on hernandez, come on...dont be so optimistic

Anything better than third place is a reach for this team in this division. Pedro, Delgado, and Alou are getting very old Reyes is an average SS and is head case, and this bullpen is terrible. It's going to be a long season full of broken dreams again for the Mets.

The El Duque prediction is possible, but still pessimistic, and he'll have more wins. No way he is under .500. I would bet that Maine and Perez are MUCH better than those predictions. I would put money on Perez being closer to 18-6 2.98 ERA than to that prediction.

SP Orlando Hernandez
8-10 W-L, 4.45 ERA

hard to believe someone with an ERA under 5 will have a losing record with the Mets.

Trachsel did win 15 games in 2006 with a 5 ERA.

they end up with 62 wins...do you guys expect johan to answer all the questions for the bullpen and hitting problems?????

you would rather eli be under than over right?

Hi Eli its robbie! nice site! go cubs!

Eli- love the picks but I expect mor ethan just one hitter on "The best offense in the NL" to hit over .300. I love pedro just as much as the next guy, but those expecations are pretty high consiering his age and his injuries the past couple years. I think 13 wins is reachable, but a prediction of 3.34 is a relatively elite ERA. I just dont think Pedro is that type of elite pitcher any more who can keep it that low. I love your Beltran and Delgado, those are gonna be dead on.

The best offense in the NL belongs to the Phillies. Anyone who can't see that is blind.

by Anonymous on Feb 15, 2008 8:51 AM EST reply actions

the mets are not the best offense in the NL. the phillies are much better offensively.

Eli= Mets Hater.

This dude just hate the Mets I'm telling you.

by Anonymous on Feb 15, 2008 2:44 PM EST reply actions

THE PHILLIES ARE NOT BETTER OFFENSIVELY HAHA, if the mets played in that bandbox their offensive would be better than the phils

Like in his comments in the Santanas article, again you show like a pessimistic yankees fan.

Yankees are in a deep problem no the champions METS.

The Mets clearly have question marks and I do believe that the Phillies offense is marginally better than the Mets. However, the Mets starting and bullpen pitching are head and shoulders better than the Phillies. As I said all last year, if the Mets had a healthy Dirty Sanchez in 2007, that bullpen would have been lights out and the NY Mets would have approached their 2006 win total of 97!

p.s. all Philly and Yankee fans, Santana changes everything..that's if he's healthy most of the year!

the yankees r fine the mets need to be the ones to worry because the yankees have a few starters to take over if one goes down in the majors who do the mets have nobody the have a decent starting 5 not great but good enough the BP is a ? it could be one of the best or it could fall apart right now its a guessing game

by Anonymous on Feb 17, 2008 11:23 PM EST reply actions

Maine and Perez are going to match/beat their win totals from last year and is El Duque going to be able to make at least 18 starts!?

by Anonymous on Feb 24, 2008 4:02 PM EST reply actions

Phillies still scored the most runs on the road, therefor any "bandbox" argument is moot. I would also bet the Braves lineup is better than the Mets too. They did score more runs than the Mets last year..with guys like Ryan Langerhans and Scott Thorman starting for them for a portion of their season, and an Andruw Jones hitting .222.
