Angels Pursuing Eckstein

According to one AL executive, an unknown team contacted the Blue Jays late last night expressing interest in shortstop David Eckstein. This news put the Angels-Jays trade on hold to see if they can get something better for Eckstein. From what I am hearing, the Angels have compiled a list of low-level pitching prospects from the Jays to choose from. In 74 games this season, Eckstein is hitting .274 with 1 HR, but is a career .285 hitter.The Dodgers, Rays, and Diamondbacks are believed to be the three other teams pursuing David Eckstein.
