Source: Rays to Call Up Price

According to a source, the Rays will call up top pitching prospect David Price to start on September 23rd. The Rays have eighteen games in the final seventeen days of the season, so they need the extra pitching to get through it. The source informed me that Price will be called up to start the first game of a double header versus the Orioles, in order to keep the Rays normal starters on regular days rest. Price went 12-1 with a 2.30 ERA this season in the minors, and is expected to join the team full time in early 2009.
