The Tigers, still in the hunt for pitching, are hoping to lock up free agent pitcher Joe Beimel by the end of the week. According to a source with knowledge of the negotiations, Beimel is interested in signing with the Tigers, but his agent, Joe Scroba, is waiting on Brian Fuentes to sign, which could also take place within the next week or two. It seems like speculation at this point, by the Tigers have been patient in hopes that prices will continue to fall. With that said, the Tigers might pursue both Joe Beimel and Juan Cruz in hopes of fortifying the bullpen, who blew 28 games.
