Phillies Release Jenkins

The Phillies have parted ways with outfielder Geoff Jenkins, FOXSports.com is reporting. Jenkins, 31, hit .246 with 9 HR in 115 games last season, and is hitting .250 with 1 HR in 44 at-bats this spring. Releasing Jenkins clears up some space in the outfield for the Phillies, who will go with Matt Stairs as their reserve outfielder.
