San Jose Wants The Athletics

San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed plans to make a serious run at bringing the Oakland Athletics to San Jose. The A's plans to move to Fremont fell through last month, clearing the way for San Jose to make another run at the A's. "All right, it's time for baseball. We know we have a great market for professional sports and we have a site identified." The San Francisco Giants count San Jose as apart of its fan base, so owner Lew Wolff will need to work that out with the Giants.

Although Oakland has great fans, the A's have always struggled to draw large numbers to the stadium. Building a new stadium they can call their own as well as an excited new fan base may pump up the young Athletics.
