Kenji Johjima signs with Hanshin Tigers

Stay connected for news and updates

Former Mariners catcher Kenji Johjima has agreed to a four year deal worth 21 million dollars to return to Japan to play for the Hanshin Tigers

"Hanshin was the first team to set up talks with me," Johjima said. "I'll do everything I can do to help the team win."

Johjima also talked with his former team, the Softbank Hawks, but they could never work out a deal. Johjima hit .268 in his four seasons in Seattle, and it will be interesting to see how he fairs after his hiatus from the Pacific League.

How do you guys think he will fair in 2010?
