Jermaine Dye open to switch to first base

Foxsports.com has a report out that free agent Jermaine Dye is willing to play first base next season, giving himself more options this season.

Dye hit .251 this season, a year after his .292 in 13 more games than this season. Dye still put up above average OBP and OPS, but it is certainly teams will consider when pursuing the soon-to-be 36 year old.

The Braves, Mets, Giants, and Orioles could take a look at Dye.

"It wouldn't surprise me at all if he had some success over there," one executive says.

Dye is likely looking at a one to two year deal worth about 10-14 million dollars.

Of course Brian Sabean would sign Dye, because he’s an idiot.
