Brewers re-sign Chris Capuano, target Carl Pavano

The Brewers are starting to make moves to fortify their rotation, re-signing oft-injured 18-game winner (that's a mouthful) Chris Capuano to a minor league deal.

If healthy, Capuano is a very capable back-end of the rotation starter. Capuano last pitched in 2007, but owns a lifetime 4.39 ERA in five professional seasons.

The Milwaukee-Journal Sentinel is reporting that the Brewers have interest in free agent starter Carl Pavano.

"He's definitely on their radar," said Pavano's agent Tom O'Connell. Pavano went 14-12 with a 5.10 ERA in 33 starts this past season with the Indians and Twins

Pavano would be a solid addition who could probably be had at a fairly reduced price, especially if the Brewers were willing to go for two years.
