Phillies pursuing Adrian Beltre?

Randy Miller of the Bucks County Courier Times reports that the Phillies are interested in free agent third baseman Adrian Beltre. However, the Phillies are keeping tabs on an array of players because Beltre is believed to be seeking a multi-year deal.

According to Major League and team sources, Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. is targeting free agent Adrian Beltre although he knows money may be a problem. Beltre is represented by hard-line agent Scott Boras, who is believed to be after a four-year deal. Free agent third basemen Mark DeRosa, a favorite of Manuel, and one-time Phillie Placido Polanco are possibilities, as well.

Beltre fits into the Phillies plan, but he isn't a whole lot different than Pedro Feliz, whose option was declined. DeRosa would be a great option because of his ability to play multiple positions, and his tremendous clubhouse presence.
