Rangers, Mariners interested in Marco Scutaro
MLB.com's Jordan Bastian is reporting that the Rangers and Mariners are interested in free agent infielder Marco Scutaro. Scutaro, a Type-A free agent, can play second, third, shortstop, and left field.
This past season he hit a career best .282 with career highs in home runs (12), on-base percentage (.379), walks (90), and doubles (35).
The Red Sox and Dodgers have emerged as the favorites, but after a recent report suggesting the Cubs are moving Ryan Theriot to second, they could pursue him as well. The Cubs have the 15th pick in the 2010 MLB Draft, which means they wouldn't lose their first round pick by signing Scutaro, but instead their second round pick.
Miguel Tejada, Orlando Cabrera, and Scutaro are the top three free agent shortstops remaining on the market, and the market isn't expected to pick up until some of the bigger name free agents sign.

good addition for both
But don’t the rangers have to cut back on signings? The mariners could also use him. I don’t think the cubs need him, they need to use this next draft to help their farm system get stronger.
I don't know, I'm not in shape yet.
