Jermaine Dye bound for Texas?

T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com is reporting that Jermaine Dye is high on the Rangers wish list this offseason. Dye has stated his interest to go west, so it is possible the Rangers would fit the bill.

Dye's numbers fell in the second half, but he still put up pretty respectable numbers and is a natural leader in the clubhouse. He would give them an option at DH, outfield, and apparently first base, which is why the Rangers have interest in him.

One NL source says the Giants have had discussions about Jermaine Dye, but have not engaged in serious negotiations as of yet.

The Giants have holes at first and the outfield, and Dye could help at both areas next season.

Yes

Yes, the offense was not so good last year.

Maybe because of the injuries (Kinsler & Hamilton)

But seriously, if this team needs to upgrade something, it’s just everything else.

It’s really heard to say right now about offense because last year was not good for offense……

Dye could help the Giants

if the NL had the DH. He’s horrendous on defense and would not contribute as much to the team based on his overall cost to the team.

Bonds stands alone.

that being said, I’m confident the Giants will make a run at him b/c they’re dumb.
