Several Teams Interested In Rockies Closer Huston Street

According to Sports Illustrated John Heyman, several teams are scouting Rockies closer Huston Street.

Street a one-time star closer for the Oakland A's, will be a hot commodity as teams look to add bullpen help down the stretch.

Several teams appear to have expressed interest including the Yankees, Rangers and Angels.

Street who currently has 13 saves for the Rockies, while sporting a very respectably 3.00 era (Coors Field Considered), will be a nice addition for any bullpen.

However, the Rockies recent 11 game-winning streak may alter the teams plans in the future. Despite the streak the Rockies still remain 11.5 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West, and 3 1/2 games behind the Cardinals in the NL Wild Card race.

I can understand the rumors

but Colorado shouldn’t be so fast to trade away Street, especially not while in the midst of this great winning streak.

The Rockies have leapt 7 teams in the wild card race in two weeks

And if you believe BtB, they have the best shot at the wild card. So yeah, put off the sell mode for now.
