Magglio Ordonez Benched Indefinitely
On Thursday, manager Jim Leyland said he's going to get his slumping right-fielder "away from it." When asked for how long, Leyland replied, "indefintely."

He's kind of sucked this year.
He isn’t hitting for any power, though I think that’ll improve. He’s hitting more balls on the ground than usual (~60%) but his HR/FB is a meager 4.8%.
This situation really bears watching. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Tigers pull a Gary Sheffield and cut Magglio. $18M for next season is really a tough pill to swallow for an older, oft-injured player with a .680 OPS. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up as Sheffield’s teammate either.
