Sandberg Weighs In on Sosa's HOF Worthiness
"Part of being a Hall of Famer, they use the word integrity in describing a Hall of Famer, in the logo of the Hall of Fame and I think there are guys who are not going to get in." Former Cub and Hall of Famer himself, Ryne Sandberg gave his opinion in response to a question during a local Chicago radio program Tuesday, when asked specifically about Sammy Sosa.
He went further in his remarks, " For the society, for the up-and-coming players and youth out there, I don't think they should be recognized at all." Sandberg said he felt part of the punishment for using steroids should be a ban on entry into the Hall. He said he doesn't support a special section for dopers.

Of course he's right.
He’s in the Hall, and he doesn’t want to have that honor cheapened by sharing it with guys who cheated to get in.

is he right to weigh in?
I don’t know whether it’s the right call. He certain has the right, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea or that he’s correct in his opinion.
