Blue Jays have interest in Halos' Wood
The Angels remain interested in Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay, the Boston Globe is reporting. However, Blue Jays officials have told the Globe that it would take a package including Brandon Wood, among other top rated prospects. Wood was hitting .312 with 17 home runs in 70 games for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees, and is hitting .333 with a home run in 4 games with the Angels.
Wood has been the Angels top prospect for the past several seasons, especially after coming off 31 home run season for the Bees in 2008. Halladay should command four or five top of the line prospects, including Brandon Wood and Sean O'Sullivan. As of right now, I would be surprised to see the Blue Jays pull off a blockbuster deal. Money is tight all around baseball, and teams may not be willing to add significant payroll unless they could unload some as well.

Everyone wants Wood.
He was the first piece that San Diego asked for in negotiations about Peavy.
I, personally, am under the impression he isn’t available. Halladay is intriguing though, so I wonder if the calculations change in that regard.
Lackey could be leaving at the end of the year, so this could be a chance to make a move.
