Red Sox Close to Deal For Cliff lee

Rob Bradford at WEEI is reporting that the Red Sox are close to a deal that would acquire Cliff Lee from the Indians for Michael Bowden, Josh Reddick and another prospect. If this rumor has any truth to it it does not make much sense to me because they need a Hitter much more then a great pitcher.I think they are just wasting a prospect in bowden. But ethier way this is trouble for the Yankees and Rays not to mention the rest of the american league. Plus i get a good first article.

nah...

like ^ said his account was hacked and there’s no way the Indians will bite for this measly offer anyway.

After last night, it looks like the Red Sox need bullpen help instead of starting pitching.

Actually...

Those were the first runs that they had given up since the All Star Break.

true

They don’t need pen help.

But Papelbon’s due for a bad stretch the way he pitches. He’s had some Houdini type games this season more often than not.

Take a jaunt over to Over The Monster

There’s a post over there on Papelbon…people are NOT being kind.

LOL

leave it to Red Sox fans to call remind people that Papelbon is the statistically best postseason reliever ever, then one blown save later panic and await doomsday.

So you went from acknowledging that he's getting lucky more often than not...

To insulting us for being mad about Paps finally getting burnt?

He's been playing with fire all season.

Most of us have been dreading his appearance in games, and he finally crapped the bed in fantastic fashion, which brought out EVERYONE.
