Marlins Getting Closer on Deal for Padres' Bell
The loudest lunchtime buzz at the moment seems to be about Padres closer Heath Bell, who is being pursued be a number of teams, most feverishly by the Marlins, according to various news outlets, ESPN.com and FOXSports.com among them. SI.com's Jon Heyman is weighing in as well with the information that leftys Andrew Miller and Sean West are the names being discussed in return for Bell.
The Marlins have been using Matt Lindstrom as their closer and while he's been on the DL, Leo Nunez has filled that role. If they could land Bell, Lindstorm could return to his role as a setup man. Bell is 32 and under contract through the 2011 season.
ESPN's Buster Olney is reporting in the last few minutes that the Marlins are rejecting the offer to give up Miller or West.

Well, I'm doubting it will be...
Edward Mujica. Apparently, they’re trying him in the rotation. He starts on Saturday for the Pads.
Maybe Luke Luke Gregerson? Greg Burke? Mike Adams?
It’s a crapshoot at this point, I think.
I heard Edward Mujica
up until yesterday when they decided to try him as a starter.
