Yankees starter Wang leaves game with shoulder injury

Associated Press-

New York Yankees starter Chien-Ming Wang left Saturday's game against theToronto Blue Jays with a strained right shoulder.

Wang surrendered a two-run homer to Adam Lind with one out in the sixth and threw a pitch toScott Rolen before manager Joe Girardi and trainer Gene Monahan came out of the dugout. Girardi opted to replace Wang with David Robertson.

The Yankees said Wang would get an MRI on Saturday. Wang already has spent time on the disabled list this season with weakness in the adductor muscles in his hips.

Should Wang not be able to make his next start, it's likely the Yankees would bring Phil Hughes in from the bullpen to start.  If it's determined that Wang will miss substantial time, look for the Yankees to heavily pursue acquiring an additional relief pitcher to offset the loss of Hughes in the bullpen.  Some possible names out there are John Grabow, Rafael Betancourt, George Sherill, Chad Qualls and Heath Bell

Leave Phil there

Can’t we please have somebody STAY in the bullpen. Hughes finally finds a spot he’s comfortable with (and it because of Wang) and now he’ll go back to the starting rotation?
