Oakland A's Acquire Scott Hairston From Padres
The Oakland A's acquired outfielderScott Hairston from the San Diego Padres in exchange for minor league pitchers Ryan Webb and Craig Italiano plus a player to be named later, the club announced today. Hairston is expected to join the A's Monday in Boston.
It's a bit of a surprising move being that all indication were that the A's were going to be sellers. Some thought the move was made to add a potential trade piece, but according to Foxsports.com, the A's have coveted Hairston for some time.

Being an Oakland fan;
I’m exicted but not about trading Holliday unless the haul offsets the prospects Beane gave up to get him…
"Where's the beef?"
I could see the A’s getting some major league ready prospects for Holliday
