Well maybe 1 marginal prospect or cash, hes virtually untradeable, is he doing good at all this year?

He is hitting around .255 hit a couple homeruns and 20 rbi..
He only serves as pinch-hitter/ late game defensive sub!

He May Have P.R. Value To The Red Sox
Bring the guy home at the twilight of his career. The fans would love it.

Nah, don't waste the roster spot unless we're WAY ahead in the AL East.

Its not gonna happen, but perhaps if he were a full time DH
his offensive numbers would improve. Given his health issues, a marginal prospect would be a worthwhile return.

The only way he gets traded is if some DH gets hurt on a contending AL team
and B.B. would not get much back in return.

Do you really want Garciaparra as your DH??
I think there are better options to be had for that role.

He's a bench bat on a second division team
You could easily find comparable players in your own organization.

What about an NL team?
Phils were looking at him earlier in the year, they’re still hurting for a bench bat, with just releasing Coste. They might give up a marginal prospect for him. Possibly Sergio Escolona, who’s been up and down for the Phillies.

Only trade for Nomar if he agrees..
To double duty, playing first, and between innings sells souvenirs. Nomar is too much of a injury risk, all MLB teams should pass.

too much of an injury risk?
then do you really want him climbing steep stadium stairs with a bin full of malts around his neck? though I suppose in Oakland he’s only got two levels to worry about….

Low prospect, he’s still useful as a PH and occasional sub…would be good to see him go and finish his career in Boston(I’m assuming this is his last year).

I don't think Nomar brings back anything significant
trading him to a contender would be a favor to him rather than a way to recoup value. But, with Giambi landing on the DL, I’m thinking Barton is the 1B with Nomar getting starts vs. LHPs, which means the A’s may want to keep him. Ugh.
