How to make $10,001 going to the bathroom

A hot dog at Yankee Stadium $4.50

Tickets to a Yankee game umm...$2,500

Going to the bathroom during the God Bless America...Price...haha fooled you; it's actually $10,001

This story is crazy, but still somewhat newsworthy.

In August 2008 a fan was kicked out of Yankee Stadium by police officers for apparently going to the bathroom during the God Bless America. The fan then proceeded to sue claiming that he was a victim of political and religious discrimination. As of today it was reported that the fan and the city settled their dispute, and the fan will receive financial compensation for his troubles.

Apparently the city will pay the Queens resident $10,001 in addition to $12,000 in legal fees. The Yankees; however, will not have to pay any additional costs, or claim any liability, but the team must now allow fans to move freely throughout the stadium at all times.

Alice McGillion, a spokeswoman for the Yankees had the following to say.

"Policy remains as it always has been: Fans are free to move about during the playing of 'God Bless America."

I mean this may be the craziest way I have ever seen anybody make $10,000, but hey whatever works. I would love to give an opinion on this, but something tells me I might offend some people so I'm going to leave it to you guys.

What do you think of this story? Is this the craziest thing you have ever heard? Should this guy take a leak at another time or does he have every right to go to the bathroom whenever he wants?  Comment away!!

truer words were never spoken.

What you fail to understand in your joyless myopia is that baseball is the key to life-- the Rosetta Stone, if you will. If you just understood baseball better all your other questions your, your... the, uh... the aliens, the conspiracies they would all, in their way be answered by the baseball gods.

There has got to be more to the story than being kicked out of the stadium for going to the restroom during the National Anthem.

If that is the complete reason, it is one of the oddest things I’ve heard in a long time.

It was God Bless America

And apparently he was choked and hit by stadium security as well as being told to ‘Love it or leave it’.

I must be missing something. In this article it say he was kicked out of Yankees Stadium during the playing of the National Anthem

But in the quote it says that fans can move about during the playing of “God Bless America”.
When was it changed?
