Blue Jays release B.J. Ryan
Associated Press-
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Toronto Blue Jays released one-time closer B.J. Ryan and activated current closer Scott Downs from the 15-day disabled list.
Toronto announced the moves before Wednesday night's game against Tampa Bay.
Ryan has struggled this season, going 1-1 with a 6.53 ERA in 25 relief appearances. The left-hander allowed 22 hits, including five homers, and 17 walks over 20 2/3 innings.
Downs had been sidelined by a left big toe injury.
B.J. Ryan has to be one of the worst contracts of recent memory. I'm sure some team will pick him up, left-handed pitching always is a hot commodity, and I'll guarantee some pitching coach out there believes they can correct Ryan's troubles.
Please stay tuned to Blue Bird Banter for more information on this story.

Only if they trade MDC.
He is/should be (depends on if Tito’s thinking straight at the moment) the backup LHH guy, because of his splits. I wouldn’t mind it though, as long as he’s cheap.

there will be a number of teams interested

Im sure some team will pick him up for the league minimum
But Arnsberg has worked wonders with all of our pitchers and couldn’t do a thing with Ryan so good luck to whoever wants to try

'Oh, you can't help that' said the Cat 'we're all mad here'.
good luck to the Beej
he was a great competitor, worked hard, was well-liked, and seemed like a good guy.
