Red Sox Trade for Reds' Alex Gonzalez
The Red Sox have acquired shortstop Alex Gonzalez from the Cincinnati Reds. The club has a $6 million option on him for next year so he will be more than just a six-week (and hopefully longer) rental. No word yet on who the Red Sox will be sending to the Reds, as this news is just breaking in the last half hour, according to the Boston Globe.

Decent move
He’ll be a solid back up & spot starter and negron wasn’t a huge prospect plus the sox get about 1.1 million.
