Vicente Padilla Designated for Assignment
The Rangers have cut ties with Vicente Padilla, 8-6 with a 4.92 ERA, designating him for assignment. He was given a wake-up call in June, being put on waivers then, one day after hitting Mark Teixeira twice in the same game. GM Jon Daniels had enough of his bad behavior and demeanor and gave him the news, along with manager Ron Washington in a closed-door meeting that lasted all of two minutes.
As word spread throughout the clubhouse, Texas players showed Daniels their approval. Handshakes were exchanged, and Ian Kinsler went so far as to say, "Congrats."
Said Daniels: "It's just a culmination of events over time. It's about being a good teammate, acting like a professional and representing the team the right way."

I doubt anyone will trade for him or claim him
he has a huge contract, maybe someone will sign him once he becomes a free agent

He is a horrible human being
he has no regard for anyone, he throws and tries to take out the best batters by beaning them, and he has a career ERA of 4.36. The guy is washed up and little kids shouldn’t be looking up to a guy who has horrible chemistry with teammates.
