Dodgers acquire Jim Thome
SI.com's Jon Heyman (working around the clock, as usual) is reporting via Twitter that the Dodgers have acquired Jim Thome in exchange for Justin Filler. In a corresponding move, the White Sox sent Jose Contreras to the Rockies for Brandon Hynick, a 16 game winner in 2007 who currently has 10 wins with a 4.44 ERA in 27 starts.
A so-so fall back after missing out on Jon Garland.
You can read my interview with Brandon Hynick from 2007 here.
