Pirates interview manager John Gibbons for managerial vacancy

PrintThe Pirates interviewed former Blue Jays manager John Gibbons for their managerial vanancy, according to MLB.com. Gibbons, who was 305-305 in his time with the Blue Jays from 2004-2008. He is currently the Royals bench coach.
Gibbons had some minor mishaps with players in the dugout and the clubhouse during his time with the Blue Jays. However, he is considered a viable coach around the majors and could provide a spark under some of the younger Pirates prospects.
The Pirates have also interviewed former Marlins coach and Diamondbacks third base coach Bo Porter.
