Marlins to tab Bo Porter next manager?

Multiple sources believe that the Marlins will name Diamondbacks third base coach Bo Porter their manager by weeks end. Porter, 38, has coaching experience with the Marlins and Diamondbacks, and is very familiar with the Marlins execs and good coaches within the organization.

Porter interviewed for the job after the team fired Fredi Gonzalez, but the Marlins decided to award Edwin Rodriguez, who likely won't be retained if Porter is brought aboard.

Porter specialty  is developing young players, making him the perfect candidate to develop some of the younger Marlins, like Chris Coghlan and Cameron Maybin.
