Report: La Russa signs 1-year tenure with Cardinals

According to multiple sources, the St. Louis Cardinals and current manager Tony La Russa have agreed in principle on a 1-year deal which will keep the 66-year old manager around for another season.

In the contract, the Cardinals have included a mutual option for 2012 if La Russa would like to come back and manage.  Since becoming the manager of the Cardinals, La Russa has set a franchise record in wins with a total of 1,318 and has brought St. Louis seven division titles, 2 National League pennants and a World Series title in 2006.
