Cardinals Notes: Duncan and McGwire will return

According to Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the St. Louis Cardinals and pitching coach Dave Duncan have agreed to a new two-year extension. 

Duncan, is most famous for turning around the careers of the likes of Joel Pineiro, Brad Penny and developing the likes of Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright.  

The Cardinals also decided to keep hitting coach and former home run king Mark McGwire around for another season, agreeing to a one-year deal with the former slugger. 

McGwire, was hired by manager Tony LaRussa last offseason after he admitted on ESPN that he used steroids during his playing days.
