Report: White Sox Targeting Colby Rasmus
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, White Sox general manager Kenny Williams has been pushing for a trade to acquire Cardinals outfielder Colby Rasmus. Rasmus, 24, hit .276 with 23 homers and 66 RBIs in 2010.
Williams has reportedly tossed around trade that would swap Rasmus and outfielder Carlos Quentin. Rasmus, reportedly asked to be traded last July with the emergence of John Jay in center field.
The White Sox would certainly welcome a trade for an outfielder as they kicked around an idea about acquiring young outfielder Mike Stanton from the Marlins for the rights to manager Ozzie Guillen. Although the team denies that rumor, there is no denying they could be be in the market for a young outfielder this offseason.
