Mariners talking with Leon Durham About Hitting Coach Position
According to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times, the Mariners have had conversations with former Chicago Cubs second baseman Leon Durham about the team's hitting coach vacancy.
Durham, posted a .277 batting average with a career on-base-plus-slugging-percentage of .831 in 10 major league seasons. Durham has been regarded as one of the best all around hitters of the 1980's.
Baker also mentions that the M's have also had conversations with former Phillies hitting coach Milt Thompson, and have also had discussions with Baltimore Orioles bench coach Jeff Datz about the job.
