Marlins trade outfielder Cameron Maybin

The Marlins have traded outfielder Cameron Maybin to the Padres for relievers Ryan Webb and Edwin Mujica, according to Tom Krasovic of AOL Fanhouse. The Marlins had high hopes for Maybin after he posted a .398 on-base percentage in five minor league seasons, but he only hit .234 this season with 8 home runs and a .302 on-base percentage. He is also now out of minor league options.

Webb, 24, went 3-1 with a 2.90 ERA and 54 games with a 1.41 WHIP. He owns a career 3.18 ERA in 82 career appearances. Mujica, 26, posted a 3.62 ERA in 59 games with 0.93 ERA. Both pitchers are capable of pitching in the later innings and will certainly fortify the Marlins bullpen.
