Giants decline Renteria's $9.5 Million Club Option

PrintAccording to the Associated Press, the San Francisco Giants have decided to decline the 9.5 million dollar club option on shortstop and World Series MVP Edgar Renteria.
Despite Renteria's strong playoff performance, the 34-year old shortstop has had a tough season as he has been plagued by constant injuries, which caused him to lose his starting job to Juan Uribe.
Renteria is reportedly contemplating retirement, and would certainly go out on top as a five-time All-Star and a World Series ring.
