Update: 2:15pm CST - According to Dan Hayes of the San Diego North County Times, Patterson is the "player to be named later" in the Adrian Gonzalez deal.

According to Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports, the San Diego Padres have acquired outfielder Eric Patterson from the Boston Red Sox.

There's been no confirmation from either side as of yet nor is there any indication what other players could be involved in the deal.

Patterson hit .226 for the Red Sox last season in just 84 at bats.
