Contrary to early morning reports, the Rangers have not met with Brandon Webb and are not the favorites to land him this offseason. The Cubs and Nationals remain the favorites for his services but there are no indications as to where he may sign.
The interest based on how many teams are pursuing the former Cy Young winner would suggest that his shoulder is weary, but overall, he is healthy. Remember, Webb has not pitched in nearly two seasons, and several teams are going off his performance in the Arizona Fall League to see if he is worth a shot.
He is likely looking at a one-year deal in the range of 2-3 million dollars, plus incentives.
