Blue Jays sign Kevin Gregg
The Blue Jays and Kevin Gregg have agreed to a one year deal worth 2.75 million dollars, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman. Gregg will likely compete for the closer spot with Scott Downs and and Jason Frasor.
Gregg is coming off a mediocre year in Chicago, but has a hard fastball that he (sometimes) mixes well with his secondary pitches.
Adding another arm to the bullpen is usually a smart move, but did new GM Alex Anthopoulos pull the trigger on the wrong reliever?

I don't think he is the best reliever out there...
but he is a good addition as a backup arm in the bullpen, and he can close if needed. The money is cheap for a guy who can go in and pitch 72 games in a year. His ERA was almost 5 though that is a concern. I would have gone with Will Ohman or even Jason Isringhausen.

as a cubs fan i can tell you that this is a bad sign. he had one good year in his career and it was in the final year of his contract with the marlins

He may suck....
But he is a ok fillin for a major league bullpen. He might do a little better with a limited role in the bullpen, as long as he isn’t a closer. The Blue Jays should use him more for a bullpen fill in for blowouts or just as a fill in arm.
