Cardinals trade Julio Lugo
The Cardinals have traded shortstop Julio Lugo to the Orioles for a player to be named later, according to ESPN.com. The Cardinals will be responsible for the majority of his 9 million dollar salary, which he signed with the Red Sox before the 2007 season.
The Orioles will use Lugo as insurance in the middle infield, particularly if Brian Roberts can't start on Opening Day.
In 88 games last season with the Red Sox and Cardinals, Lugo hit .280 with 3 home runs. His last full season was in 2007 when he .237 in 147 games. He is a .272 career hitter in 158 career at-bats at Camden Yards.

This is not correct . The Red Sox are on the hook for most of that 9 million.
Yeah...that's what I thought.
It certainly would be AWESOME if the Cards decided to eat that for us, though!
Galactus does as he pleases. Because Galactus is drunk.
I have a five-tool player in my pants.
ACTUALLY, advanced metrics show that that wasn't "premature".
