Brandon Webb transferred to 60-day DL

The Diamondbacks made a difficult move today, transferring former Cy Young winner Brandon Webb to the 60-day disabled list. Webb won't be eligible to come off the DL now till May 25th, however, GM Josh Byrnes said there is no timetable for his return.

Webb only made one start last season before being shut down for the entire season. It would be a huge blow to the Dbacks if he cannot pitch for the 2010 season.

Webb will be a free agent following this season and may be forced to sign a low salary type deal. It is possible he could follow a similar path to Ben Sheets, who signed a one year deal worth 10 million dollars with the Athletics over the offseason.

For the thirteen time in 3 or one evers, I found myself toothlessly thinking about Manny Ramirez.
