MLB.com's Bill Ladson is reporting that the Blue Jays are interested in Nationals pitcher Jason Bergmann, who was recently designated for assignment. Bergman posted his best ERA in 15 games during his rookie season in 2005 (2.75 ERA). Beyond that, he posted a 4.45 ERA in 21 starts in 2007 for the Nationals.
It is hard to imagine Bergmann, 28, could benefit from a move to the AL East. He owns a career 5.04 ERA and has posted a 15.43 ERA in 4 appearances this season.
