Brewers award Yovani Gallardo extension

The Brewers signed Yovani Gallardo to a five year-extension worth 30.1 million dollars, according to SI.com. The deal covers all his arbitration years and first year of free agency.

"It hasn't really settled into me yet because I'm just that type of guy, I kind of try not to show too much emotion," the 24-year-old Gallardo said. "But it's great."

Gallardo posted 13 wins in Milwaukee last season, and this five year extension implies the Brewers only expect him to build on his impressive young career.

They got off dirt cheap signing him at that price. The union’s sure to moan about this one.

What a steal for the brewers

He is worth more around 7.5-11 million a year
