Red Sox release Alan Embree, next stop unknown?
After calling up reliever Alan Embree, the Red Sox designated him for assignment to make room for Daisuke Matsuzak on the roster. He had yet to make an appearance.
Embree owns a 4.59 career ERA.
One source believes the Phillies and Cubs could enter the mix for Embree, who should command anywhere between 500,000-1 million dollars.

Alan Embree
Just say no to Alan Embree if you’re Jim Hendry and the Cubs. A washed up 40 yr. old reliever who isn’t needed for LH relief. Move on to other position upgrades if possible.
