The White Sox and Alan Embree have agreed to a minor league and have assigned him to Triple-A Charlotte. Embree was released by the Red Sox after they called him up and realized they had no place for him in the bullpen because they were already working with a six-man rotation.
Embree is a solid relief pitcher who could benefit the White Sox in the bullpen this season. They may give him a week or two to pitching in Triple-A, but he should be with the White Sox very soon.
