Rays designate Pat Burrell for assignment
The Rays have opted to call-up DH Hank Blalock to replace the unproductive Pat Burrell, who was hitting .202 in 24 games this season. Burrell was in the midst of a terrible May slump going 2-for-25 with no extra-base hits.
Blalock was hitting .349 with 4 home runs in 26 games in Triple-A, and he is definitely a sleeper to have a productive year.

Yes but the guy is done
His power numbers could be solid if he picked back up but overall, his average and mental condition are long gone
