Dontrelle Willis in need of fresh start?
The agent of Tigers pitcher Dontrelle Willis informed MLB.com's Jason Beck that his client would benefit from a fresh start in a new environment. Willis is 1-2 with a 4.98 ERA but 33 strike outs to 29 walks, and a 1.78 WHIP.
"On Dontrelle's end, I think it's going to be a relief getting a fresh start," Sosnick said Sunday night. "If anything's going to get him back, it's going to be a fresh start."
Willis has certainly battled confidence issues, among other things, and his agent thinks his client needs a new team and city so he can focus solely on baseball.
"Wherever [Willis] goes next," Sosnick said, "I think he hopes he can be successful without him being the guy that has all these issues as opposed to being [another pitcher]. His playing games in Detroit was kind of secondary to figuring out why he wasn't the same guy who won the rookie of the year [in 2003]. ...
In terms of where Willis will wind up, the possibilities are pretty open. Let's hear some ideas...

Yankees might want to take a look
they might want another lefty, but if he dosent have the stuff they wont take him. Philly could use somebody in their BP
The guy has severe mental issues and no matter
where he is, it won’t change
He was given the chance when he went from Florida to Detroit
How about the Cardinals
…Maybe Dave Duncan can salvage his career?
