Phillies talk with Pedro Martinez
ESPN.com is reporting that the Phillies have reached out to free agent pitcher Pedro Martinez about possibly returning for the second half of the 2010 season. Martinez told reporters he is readying himself for a second half return, but where is not certain. It would make sense that the Phillies would be high on the list considering that is where he pitched last season.
"We have talked to his agent, but there's nothing so far," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said. "We have talked. We are not negotiating or anything like that, but we have talked to him. It also depends on whether he wants to play or not."
Martinez, who went 5-1 with a 3.63 ERA in nine starts last season, is working out rigorously in the Dominican Republic and Miami.

HOWEVER, what they really may need more is a hitting coach.
