Tigers option Rick Porcello to Triple-A

The Tigers announced today that they optioned struggling pitcher Rick Porcello back to Triple-A Toledo. Porcello is 4-7 in 13 starts this season, with a 6.14 ERA and 33 strike outs to 22 walks. Porcello had a strong May, posting a 3.13 ERA in 5 starts, but has been very inconsistent otherwise. 

The Tigers don't necessarily need a fifth starter until the 29th of June, so the roster call-up will be decided and made within the next day or two.
