Quick Hits: Dodgers' Matt Kemp on the block?
- The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is convinced that former Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez is the front-runner to replace Braves manager Bobby Cox when he retires after the 2010 season. Gonzalez, a former Brave coach, is already familiar with the Braves organization and the current state of the division. Who else could be a potential replacement?
- Multiple sources believe that the Yankees will make a run for a starting pitcher at the trade deadline. However, it won't be a big name pitcher like Cliff Lee or Roy Oswalt. Look for the Yankees to find a solid pitcher who is under the radar in terms of trade potential. Zack Greinke of the Royals and Ted Lilly of the Cubs are two targets.
- Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt told reporters he is open to a trade to the Rangers. Can't blame the guy for wanting to go from a last place team a first place one.
- The Dodgers are looking for pitching help and are willing to shop young guys like Matt Kemp and James Loney, according to ESPN.com.
- The Indians plan to start aggressively shopping Austin Kearns and Russell Branyan. It'll be interesting to see if they find any takers.

The Yankees
or the Dodgers for that matter can kick the tires on Zambrano, I can guarantee the Cubs will listen. The Dodger are more desperate and might look at him more seriously. As for Greinke, he’s a bit fragile—mentally, emotionally, whatever you want to say—and he would never make it under the microscope in the New York market.
